Stay Foxy, Riverview - The Fox & Hound Celebrates 31 Years

Tucked at the back of Riverview Place is a neighbourhood pub that residents have been talking about since it opened 31 years ago. The current owners, Curtis Strickland and Nancy Cromwell, have been building on the foundation of the Fox & Hound Neighbourhood Pub for the last 11 years.  

“I had the pleasure of working with the previous owner of the Fox & Hound for five years, and knew that with my mother Nancy on the team, we could grow this already reputable business to a beloved institution in Riverview,” says Curtis.  

Nancy’s background in customer service as an Executive Vice President of Client Relations combined with Curtis’ degree from St. FX, where he first dipped his toes in entrepreneurship and business ownership, have made them a team that values the dedication and creativity that comes with the restaurant service industry.  

“Our atmosphere, and service, is how we differentiate. Our staff are like family and we all work together to make sure that quality gets passed on to our customers,” says Nancy. “It’s the patrons, staff, and the sense of community here that fuels our passion and dedication.”  

Curtis was raised in Riverview, and he and Nancy love being part of the friendly, supportive atmosphere that defines the Town. Having worked summer jobs with the Parks and Recreation crews, Curtis is still amazed by the quality parks and trails that residents and visitors come to enjoy. It is a sense of belonging and support that drives and fulfills these two business owners. Nancy and Curtis value the Riverview community that they call home and give back when they can. 

“Riverview is a fantastic, growing community that takes care of its residents,” says Curtis. “For a town this size, the attention to detail as far as maintenance, community programs, sports fields, quality schools, and the list goes on, is second-to-none.”
