Construction outside of a newly build apartment building

Riverview Releases 2022 Development Report Numbers

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) – Riverview had another strong construction year in 2022.

192 permits were awarded last year for a total worth of more than $34 million in investments. In 2021, development numbers totaled 191 permits, signifying over $55 million in investments.

Riverview authorized 20 permits for commercial and institutional projects, worth close to $6 million, in addition to granting 73 permits for residential projects, representing over $27 million in investments.

“We’ve had significant apartment building completion in town this year, which continues to support growing demand from more families and newcomers wanting to call Riverview home. 2021 was our strongest year to date for building permits, and in 2022 we saw many of those projects come to life. Even with supply chain challenges and labour shortages affecting the construction industry, it’s very rewarding to see the economic growth we’ve experienced in recent years. We hope to welcome more people planting roots and support more businesses opening their doors in our community in 2023.” – Mayor Andrew J. LeBlanc

Residential home construction was up over 2021 figures – representing close to a million dollars more in investment.

The Town looks forward to more projects breaking ground in 2023 on a variety of residential, multi-residential, and commercial space to continue exciting improvements to the municipality.
