Riverview Celebrates 50th Anniversary – Here's How to Get Involved

We’re turning 50 this year – it’s time to celebrate! You may have heard by now that Riverview is recognizing an important milestone this year – 50 years as a town.  The 50th is traditionally the golden anniversary, so you’ll see that theme throughout 2023. Since 1973, we’ve been recognized as a thriving community that’s a great place to live, work, play, and grow. 

While our official anniversary date is July 9, 2023, we hope to keep the celebrations going all year! From local businesses and community groups to artisans, seniors, and youth– we need your help to make this anniversary one to remember. 

So, what does this mean to you? 

Events and Festivals 

If you’re a fan of our festivals and community events, get ready as we’ll be kicking things up a notch this year! As many residents saw at the recent Winter Carnival Ignite event – the fireworks were extra special as part of our 50th anniversary ‘gold dust’. Augmenting Town festivals will be part of our year-long celebrations.  

Community Grants  

You are invited to apply for a 50th anniversary celebration grant to assist your group, organization, or business in hosting a community event in 2023.  The Town of Riverview is offering small scale grants for events, activities, or projects that will help build community spirit, engagement and/or pride during this milestone year. Grant applications are now open: 

• Application deadline 1 - Jan 20 thru March 20 for activities taking place in March/April/May/June  
• Application deadline 2 - April 20-May 21 for activities taking place in July thru December 
• Celebration Grants range from $500 to a maximum of $1000.

50th Anniversary Store 

We’re excited to offer limited edition swag items available to the public. Our first drop includes 50th t-shirts and sweaters. More items will be added throughout the year if there’s enough demand. $5 from every purchase goes to support Riverview P.R.O.
