2023 Riverview Winter Carnival promises to be snow much fun for all ages

Riverview Winter Carnival to kick off Feb. 3, 2023 

 

RIVERVIEW (N.B.) –  A highlight of Maritime winters since 1975, the 48th Riverview Winter Carnival embraces ice and snow over 10 days of outdoor adventures, inclusive winter wellness activities and old-fashioned play. Be part of the coolest celebration around, Feb. 3-12, 2023.

With a mix of 40 indoor and outdoor activities hosted by the Town of Riverview and community partners, festivalgoers will find there’s something for everyone!

Winter Carnival Ignite kicks off festivities on Feb. 3 (Storm date, Feb. 4)

Celebrations Ignite with fireworks at Winter Wonderland Park (Quinn Court) on Friday, Feb. 3. Bundle up for hot chocolate (remember to Bring Your Own Mug) and maple candy on the snow ($1) from 6:30- 7:30 p.m. Weather permitting, there will also be skating and sledge skating on the outdoor oval – remember to bring your helmet!  Fireworks start at 7 p.m. Sliding is not permitted on Friday due to the fireworks display set-up. Special thanks to our Ignite event and activity sponsors Canadian Tire, D.R. Snow Sculpture Challenge – February 3-6

We’re celebrating Riverview’s 50th Anniversary! Show our beloved town your pride by sculpting what you envision that to be. With three ways to win, there’s even more reason to get outside and create your frozen masterpiece! Thanks are extended to our Snow Sculpture Challenge sponsors Wee College and Concentrix.

  • Four-part snowshoe adventure series organized by Wild Wisdom. All adventures are suitable for beginners served up with a bit of challenge to build confidence.
  • Winter geocaching challenge with special Winter Carnival geocoin featuring the Fundy Biosphere’s Amazing Place in Mill Creek Nature Park
  • Snowshoe Artists Matt Robinson and Sheldon Benoit are on standby for the right conditions to create a sustainable art piece celebrating Riverview’s 50th anniversary in Mill Creek Nature Park.

Party

  • Two HUBCAP Comedy Festival shows at Holy Whale Beer Hall.

  • Two youth dances – Pre-teen (9-12) and teen (13-15) dances will be grooving at the Coverdale Centre.

  • The Maritimes’ premiere winter skateboard contest features the top skateboarders in Atlantic Canada throwing down tricks for cash prizes.
  • Test your skills at the Mill Creek Amazing Race organized by BGC Riverview
  • Unwind with free warm hearts yoga for all levels and SNOWGA
  • Lace up your skates for the Snowflake Skate at the Byron Dobson Memorial Arena.
  • Take a cold plunge and enjoy frosty activities during the polar dip swim at the Pat Crossman Memorial Aquatic Centre.
  • Winter Poker Run with the Albert County Trail Blazers takes off from the Coverdale Centre.
  • Giant card party at Parkland Riverview and Crib Tournament at the Lions Club
